London, UK — 10th May 2025:
The City of London Finance Initiative (CLFI) announces the launch of its Executive Programme in Corporate Finance, Valuation & Governance, designed to meet the evolving needs of business leaders navigating high-stakes decisions in complex global environments.
This strategically designed programme offers rigorous and practical learning across key disciplines, with courses focused on corporate finance, governance, valuation, private equity, and mergers & acquisitions.
It is designed for mid and senior professionals, executives, business owners, and corporate learning teams aiming to strengthen their strategic thinking and boardroom effectiveness.
The curriculum spans board leadership, business and new project valuation, governance, and strategic investment, giving participants a solid foundation to support and influence decision-making at the highest organisational level.
“The programme expands with a specialised private equity course rarely found outside top-tier business schools, exploring how PE works, providing comprehensive insights into fund structures, fee models, capital commitments, profit distribution mechanisms, and successful exit strategies. The programme is structured for those who, sooner or later, will encounter business expansion or acquisition scenarios—whether on the seller or buyer side. The course provides a robust foundation in governance structures and deal evaluation, from time value of money to advanced business and investment appraisal techniques.”
Farhan Qamar, Executive Programme Director
The programme content is structured to ensure both finance and non-finance professionals build mastery over the principles, frameworks, and methodologies needed to support business expansion — whether through mergers, acquisitions, or transactions backed by private equity or venture capital. Participants also develop strategic awareness of corporate governance responsibilities at board level, exploring global frameworks such as the UK Corporate Governance Code, US SOX, and EU directives. Topics include fiduciary duties, board composition, the role of non-executive directors, risk oversight, and the separation of Chair and CEO functions — all approached through a practical, case-based lens that reinforces analytical thinking and executive-level learning across governance challenges.
Each cohort will work with real-world case studies, practical financial tools, and ready-to-adapt valuation models designed to accelerate confidence and clarity in strategic scenarios. The curriculum is crafted for immediate application and relevance, regardless of prior financial background.
The Executive Programme is offered in flexible formats. Cohorts can choose from a fully online option, a hybrid format combining online learning with in-person sessions, or in-presence classes hosted in the City of London — providing participants the opportunity to network with peers in one of the world’s leading global business hubs. These formats ensure accessibility and value for professionals across different industries, career stages, and locations.
